SumoSalad Green Label takes off at Sydney Airport T2
QSR Media sat down with Petra Orrenius, Head of Marketing at SumoSalad, to discuss the brand's second Green Label concept store at the Sydney Airport.
QSR Media: How have you tweaked the Green Label concept with this 2nd store?
Petra Orrenius: As our Green Label store is constantly evolving - taking into consideration the next food trends, consumer demand, new innovative local suppliers etc, Green Label T2 has the latest local collaborations with unique, top quality brand suppliers like Bread and Butter Project, Pablo Rusty Coffee Barista (best coffee supplier in Australia), and local farmers. We are also looking at eco-friendly lighting and totally waste-free programs. We are also considering a collaboration with OZharvest to better our environmental foot print and give something back to the community. We are not 100% there yet but we are working on it, one step at a time.
QSR Media: How are your customers reacting to Green Label?
Orrenius: They are absolutely loving it! The emerging healthy traveller has waited long enough for some great, tasty, healthy food while travelling. We are also doing record sales week after week since opening Green Label at T2.
QSR Media: In terms of locations, where else would you like to take Green Label?
Orrenius: We would like to take Green Label to all premium locations that demand great quality food service. This demographic understands the importance of fresh produce, and is willing to pay that little bit extra for better quality food that’s good for you and mother earth.
QSR Media: Any plans you are particularly excited about?
Orrenius: We’re particularly excited about taking Green Label to the next level. Our plan is to make Green Label fully in line with our future goals, to do things that make you feel good, while also doing good for the planet and wider community. It takes courage, ideas, innovation, energy and a visionary CEO to make these ideas a reality. At SumoSalad we have it all, so I am fully confident that we will deliver the next food revolution to help make Australia a healthier place.
