Rice Workshop set to open in Geelong
First store in Geelong, Victoria.
"The appeal of Asian food is on the rise and we wanted to share our real taste of japan outside of Melbourne, to a demographic that is very passionate about food food as Geelong is," David Loh, Founder of Rice Workshop told QSR Media.
He noted that the menu will be the same as Melbourne's to be able to share crowd favourites at the Geelong community.
To celebrate its opening, the store will be having free Soft Serve for the 1st week and then a 'Buy 1 Bowl Get 1 Dree Day.' "On that day we will be having harujuku girls, Japanese games and prizes to be one and maybe even a harujuku dance or two," added Loh.
Rice Workshop is a concept developed by entrepreneur Loh and his chef, Tomohiro Suzuki. They both found that although Japanese food is available in Australia, people are unable to try edgy and exciting Japanese food that encompasses the pop-tastic and trendy place Japan is known for.
After recognising this gap in the market they decided to open the flagship Little Bourke Street store in Melbourne’s CBD 18 months ago. After instant success another six stores have opened around Melbourne and one in Sydney.
