Michel’s Patisserie launches new store model
QSR Media catches up with Michel’s Patisserie’s Marketing Manager Chantele Solomons.
QSR MEDIA: What is new with the brand? Are there any new initiatives that you are implementing or brand updates you would like to share?
Chantele Solomons: Michel’s Patisserie has just launched a new store model, Michel’s Patisserie & Café. There are still the same great products as Michel’s however with a little extra; breakfast and light lunch options to complete a café style food menu. This store model is the next step in the rollout of our Project Evolution and gives potential franchisees a different option within the Michel’s Patisserie brand. Michel’s is also continuing to rollout our Project Evolution product and cakes across the network nationally.
QSR MEDIA: What are your plans and goals for Australia in 2015 and beyond? Any international plans?
Solomons: For the rest of the year Michel’s Patisserie will be focused on organic growth through our Project Evolution and Café outlets. We will be continually enhancing the menu in our stores nationally as we rollout new innovative and on trend products. We will also be focussing heavily on enhancing our digital presence with relooking at our ecommerce site.
QSR MEDIA: What has the brand accomplished in 2014?
Solomons: Winning Coffee Shop of the Year for the fourth year in a row, along with the positive traction we gained through Project Evolution by introducing a new, modern store design and a range of new products. We were also excited about our first Michel’s Patisserie & Café which opened in October last year. In addition we made a conscious effort to step up our coffee excellence platform relaunching our Michel’s Espresso coffee brand, and this is one of the reasons why we have been able to back up our Coffee Shop of the Year wins!
QSR MEDIA: You just won the Coffee Shop of the Year, to what do you attribute the win at the Roy Morgan award to?
Solomons: We are so excited to have been named Coffee Shop of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. We know the secrets to the perfect cup of coffee are freshly ground coffee beans, perfectly silked milk and the careful attention to detail of an experienced barista. Our beans are roasted at our state-of-the-art coffee roasting facility in Sydney, and the delicious chocolate and Berry notes of our blend has proven popular with customers. We invest the time and resources into training our baristas in the art of coffee making to ensure every customer leaves Michel’s with the best possible cup of coffee.
