QSR Media: What makes you excited about your position?
Jacob Spencer: We have become Australia's biggest Fresh Mex brand through a continual focus on bringing innovative, fresh and wholesome products to our customers, that are true to our Mexican heritage and taste amazing. I am truly excited about the next 12 months as we have a long pipeline of delicious new products that are sure to excite our customers tastebuds!
QSR Media: What 3 goals are you focused on?
Spencer: Our number 1 goal is to be the biggest and most loved Mexican food experience in Australia.
QSR Media: What long-term changes are you planning on?
Spencer: We believe that we will see a real increase in the fast and fresh casual restaurant formats in Australia, as customers would rather wait for longer to receive their meal, without comprising their health and really have a memorable customer experience. We are planning to move ahead of this trend and will grow Salsas through multiple formats throughout the country - giving every Australian the option to choose to eat delicious fresh Mex, and feel good about what they are eating.
QSR Media: What are your key business philosophies?
Spencer: I have three philosophies I live by
1. Superb Execution - being committed to achieving peak performance in everything we do.
2. Integrity - honesty, truthfulness, and straight dealing with every person, under all circumstances.
3. Ambition - have a clear vision for the future and be determined to realize it.
QSR Media: What previous positions prepared you for this one and how?
Spencer: While I have only been at Salsas for 12 months, I have been working in food retail for 20 years in companys such as Boost Juice, Coles Supermarkets, Pret a Manger (UK) and McDonalds. The number one lesson I have learned is to always listen to your customers and give them what they want.
