MealPal launches in Melbourne with over a hundred restaurants
It is offering lunch for less than $8 per day.
MealPal, the subscription service that provides members with affordable daily lunch options from restaurants near where they live or work, announced its expansion to Melbourne, following a successful June launch in Sydney.
Customers can order lunch for under $8 from restaurants like Belles Hot Chicken, Sumo Salad, PappaRich, Mr. Burger, PokPok Junior, Crisp, and Famish’d.
Through MealPal, hundreds of restaurants offer one dish per day to subscribing members. Using the website or mobile app, members browse meals available at restaurants near them, filter meals by cuisine and portion size, and reserve ahead of time.
MealPal is available in eleven cities, including Sydney, London, New York, San Francisco, and Toronto, with plans for continued expansion in the coming months.
“We’re excited to bring MealPal to Melbourne today and provide consumers a new way to save time and money, while discovering amazing restaurants in their neighborhood. We’ve seen great adoption and growth in Sydney and expect similar success in Melbourne,” said Mary Biggins, co-founder and CEO of MealPal.
Tanya Osky, national ops manager at Charlie and Co., said, "We're delighted that MealPal is launching in Melbourne. Since partnering with them in Sydney, we have seen a lot of new customers come in for the first time. Knowing the customers orders in advance means we can easily prep the burgers to be ready moments before the MealPal customer comes in. We are seeing the additional sales and profits easily added to our
already busy peak lunch period.”
Ted Tolfree, founder and owner at Crisp, added, “Adopting MealPal is part of our focus at Crisp to make healthy eating easy. MealPal lets customers order in advance and have their lunch ready when they arrive in one of our four busy CBD stores in a way that is really efficient for us.”
