
Zambrero CEO Bianca Azzopardi: Delivery's dynamic nature challenges retailers to think about customer interaction

Zambrero general manager and CEO Bianca Azzopardi will be joining the QSR Media Sandhurst Conference and Awards on June 20 as part of the event's annual Leaders Panel.
Impressing Zambrero founder Dr. Sam Prince, she joined the company after being offered a full-time position as HR Assistant and within a year became HR Manager for the entire group.
Azzopardi was appointed International Commercial Director in 2016 and was later appointed to her current role as general manager and CEO from January 2017. Under her leadership, Zambrero has opened over 40 restaurants globally.
QSR Media gave her the Rising Star Award in 2018, recognising her focus on strategic future planning, including Zambrero's goal to hit one billion meals by 2025.
QSR Media: How did you get involved in the multi-site restaurant industry?
It was a meeting with Zambrero’s founder Dr. Sam Prince whilst still at university that first sparked my passion for the restaurant industry and food retailing. I was hooked immediately and have been ever since.
What particular industry issues or developments are you currently thinking about?
Delivery, delivery, delivery and its growth in the space. It has and will continue to change the dynamic of retailing across the globe. The dynamic nature of the delivery space challenges us as retailers to think about the way we attract and interact with our customers in a whole new way.
What are you most excited to do during the QSR Media Conference and Awards in Sydney?
The event is the ideal time to share ideas and discover avenues for cross pollination among peers in the industry.
