Brumby’s bakes for epilepsy awareness
Brumby’s Bakery will be partnering with Epilepsy Action Australia on March 26 to celebrate the charity’s key annual fundraising event, Purple Day.
For one day only Brumby’s customers will be able to purchase specially-made purple cupcakes. Fifty cents from the sale of each cupcake will go directly to the charity.
Brumby’s Bakery General Manager David Dinnes said it is an honour to be supporting Purple Day, which is an international initiative committed to educating the public about epilepsy and raising much needed funds for people living with the illness.
“Purple Day is the day before Easter so as people are buying bread for celebrations with their loved ones, we ask them to think of those families less fortunate than themselves and purchase a purple cupcake. The proceeds will go towards helping the 800,000 Australians who will be diagnosed with epilepsy at some stage in their life.”
Brumby’s stores throughout Australia will be participating in Purple Day.
Epilepsy Action Australia Chief Executive Officer Carol Ireland said the brand’s generosity is greatly appreciated.
“On behalf of the Epilepsy Action Australia community, I would like to thank the Brumby’s Bakery team for their support,” she said.
“I can’t wait to try a light, fluffy cupcake on Purple Day!”
