The brand opened its seventh New Zealand site.
The menu at the new café on level five of the hospital's main block will reflect the brand's focus on healthy food prepared fresh in-house daily and premium coffee sourced and roasted by Jamaica Blue.
Owned by Foodco Group – which also operates the Muffin Break brand – Jamaica Blue operates in more than 160 cafés globally. It also has outlets in Perth's Fiona Stanley Hospital, Campbelltown Hospital in Sydney's West and Gosford and Lingard Private Hospitals in the NSW Central Coast.
As part of its local expansion in New Zealand, Jamaica Blue has been working on developing an all-new range of healthy recipes called the ‘Signature Harvest Collection'. It's a range of dishes inspired by the freshest locally sourced produce with a focus on celebrating the beauty of great food, Jamaica Blue said.
Jamaica Blue operations manager Jon Hassall said naturally Auckland Hospital has strict regulations around the food available on its premises.
“While the new menu will appeal to a wide range of tastes, it is also specifically relevant to a health facility environment,” Hassall says. “Using delicious, natural ingredients, together with the Auckland DHB we've developed nutritionally balanced recipes that will empower consumers to eat well and enjoy the experience."
“The fantastic new menu in our new Signature Harvest Collection includes a light all day breakfast range and daily specials. Great coffee is at the heart of Jamaica Blue and all customers and hospital staff receive a free coffee when they register to our Caribbean Crew loyalty programme online,” Hassall said.
“Coupled with a contemporary, relaxed setting and some of the best coffee around, the new café is particularly suited to the needs of the environment in which it's operating.”
The new menu features items ranging from nutritious bowls through to healthy salads and a selection of low-kilojoule sweet items.
