Tork brings a touch of modern glamour to the table
On walking through the intriguing entrance of the popular, new Madame Wu on the Brisbane River it’s clear to see that the atmosphere is as important as the food and wine. An exotic mix of textures, lighting and sculpture provide an uber-modern vibe. Every element in the restaurant has been selected to impart a feeling of modern elegance right down to the Tork® LinStyle black table napkins.
“We didn’t want to present ourselves as silver service and lap people with stiff linen napkins,” explains Angus Telford, Manager of Madame Wu. “We wanted a more relaxed feel and look – but still be stylish.” Tork LinStyle table napkins, which have the look and feel of linen but are softer to touch, were the answer.
Madame Wu seats in excess of 200 people and cater for corporate dining, parties, romantic diners and functions (sometimes all at once) so it’s important to be able to set up tables quickly. The LinStyle 1/4 fold napkins are easier for staff to handle plus they are disposable making for much faster cleaning up. “Also, they are a lot more cost effective – they saved us on cost and on time,” added Telford.
Black Tork Cocktail Napkins are used at the bar and for functions and like the table napkins, Telford claims they provide a good look and feel and help save on costs and time.
Keeping with the black theme, the washrooms feature Xpress Countertop Hand Towel, mid-size Toilet Roll and Foam Soap dispensers, all in black. Functionality is important for efficiency and Telford says, “We are very happy with all of these products. They look good and are working well.”
According to Brisbane restaurateur Adrian Rosato “Madame Wu is about attention to detail. The smallest details on the menu, the wine list, the bar and the customer experience matter,” so it is only natural that Tork, with a focus on the total service offer, came to the table for this restaurant with an elegant napkin solution.
