Zarraffa’s Coffee unveils $5 million roasting system
To meet the growing demands of a coffee-loving market.
The new roaster is located onsite at Zarraffa’s headquarters in Helensvale on the Gold Coast and has been constructed by Chinook Coffee Roasting Systems Pty Ltd.
According to the chain, the roaster was made from parts imported from Copenhagen but was entirely manufactured in Sydney and transported to Zarraffa’s, with the entire process taking over two and half years.
“This new roaster is a rotating fluidised bed hot air coffee roaster that will triple our current capacity. The roasting process used by this machine was invented in 1976 by a world renowned coffee authority, Michael Sivetz,” said Zarraffa’s CEO Kenton Campbell.
“At the end of the day it is about serving a great cup of coffee to each and every one of our customers, year round, and this investment ensures we can do this today and in the future.”
The Minister for Small Business, the Hon Bruce Bilson, along with Federal MP for Fadden, the Hon Stuart Robert, were on hand to officiate the ribbon cutting on the new Chinook 50Kg Air Flow coffee roasting system.
Billson said Zarraffa’s Coffee expansion was evidence there are green shoots in our economy and plenty of opportunity for businesses of all sizes to grow and prosper.
“Businesses like Zarraffa’s Coffee are the backbone of our economy and it gives me great pleasure to be able to help celebrate their success,” he noted.
