Grill'd partners with DoorDash to launch own delivery service
The chain has 138 restaurants across the country.
Grill’d has launched its own direct delivery service, now available at fifty of their restaurants across New South Wales and Victoria.
Available through the Grill’d app, the service is powered by DoorDash Drive, the company’s white-label platform that enables businesses to have their own direct delivery service.
Through DoorDash Drive, Grill’d receives on-demand access to DoorDash’s driver fleet to fulfill customers’ mobile and web orders.
Grill’d expressed plans to expand its delivery service nationwide by the close of 2020.
“Like many other businesses, we’ve had to respond quickly to the changing environment we are operating in and the evolving needs of our customers. We are determined to keep as many restaurants safely open for as long as we can, so that we keep our incredible teams employed,” Grill’d founder Simon Crowe said in a media release.
Grill’d says it is the first restaurant brand in Australia to benefit from DoorDash Drive and have “direct, integrated access” to DoorDash’s delivery operations.
“After launching our on-demand marketplace for consumers in Australia last year, we’re excited to launch and offer our partners DoorDash Drive, especially at a critical time when local restaurants need channels to reach their customers more than ever,” remarked Thomas Stephens, General Manager at DoorDash Australia.
Grill’d said it has incorporated their Relish membership programme in the delivery service, enabling its over 400,000 members with the opportunity to donate free burgers to people in need.
Relish members will receive all regular perks, as well as additional incentives on products and delivery that are not available to them if they order via UberEats.
To celebrate the launch of its new delivery service, Grill’d has made its so-called ‘Meat You in the Middle’ pledge, offering 50% off orders placed using Grill’d Delivery service between 1 and 12 April.
The delivery service announcement is said to be the first of many initiatives to be launched under the company’s new “Grill’d for Good” umbrella.
Grill’d currently has 138 restaurants across Australia.
