FLAT pushes innovation for QSR table bases
While many designers focus on the aesthetics of tables, FLAT aims to bring back function and stable platforms to QSRs everywhere.
Founder Tony Pike had his drink spill across the table because the table was wobbling one night in Sydney. Annoyed, he went home and started thinking about how this problem could be solved. Years later in 2012, FLAT table bases were commercialized and its products are now selling in over 35 countries around the world.
FLAT manufactures the only table bases that automatically stabilise and allow users to align table tops. The company has a global market and has a large range of bases, including custom table bases for chains and larger customers.
Other table base manufacturers can become partners of FLAT by entering into a licensing agreement, allowing them to integrate our technology into their own table base designs.
The Auto-Adjust KX22 and KX30 models with the classic X-shaped design remain the most popular with QSRs. In addition to these models, FLAT offers around 40 other designs to meet most needs and preferences.
Some of the world’s largest QSR chains use FLAT table bases, particularly in the USA and the UK where there is a strong interest. In 2014 and 2015 over half of FLAT sales in the USA have been to QSR chains.
In Asia Pacific, chains are also starting to adopt FLAT, particularly in the Philippines and Hong Kong, although independent restaurants have been the most frequent buyers of FLAT in this region.
Aside from the stability of tables, FLAT table bases also give operational flexibility in QSRs. Moving tables around for individuals or groups is possible without staff needing to prop up tables or worry about the table rocking. FLAT table bases also allow users to bring tables together and perfectly align adjoining table tops.
