Subway tops YouGov Australia's QSR Rankings for 2021
Local dining brands dominate the top ten.
Subway is the top restaurant chain for Aussies in terms of brand health, according to YouGov’s 2021 QSR Rankings.
The rankings are compiled using the data analytics group’s BrandIndex score, a measure of overall brand health calculated by taking the average of the following variables:
- Impression – whether someone has a positive or negative impression of a brand
- Quality – a net measure of whether consumers think the brand represents good or poor quality
- Value – a net measure of whether consumers think the brand represents good or poor value for money
- Satisfaction – whether someone is a satisfied or dissatisfied customer
- Recommend – whether someone would recommend a brand to a friend or not
- Reputation – whether someone is proud or embarrassed to work for a brand
Subway got an Index score of +27.6, followed by Bakers Delight (+22.8), KFC (+15.9), Boost Juice (+15.6), and Hungry Jack’s (+15.4).
Grill’d took sixth place (+15.4), followed by McDonald’s (+14.3), The Coffee Club (+13.6), Nando’s (+13.4) and Domino’s Pizza. (+12.8).
Of the six metrics, Subway came up on top in five.
The rankings, which also looked at which QSR brands have shown the “most improvement” over the past year, saw KFC with the most improved score (moving up 4.1 points), followed by Pizza Hut (up 3.3) and Domino’s (up 3.2).
