Industry managers, leaders have ‘strong’ growth outlook despite COVID-19 pains: report

Speed of service is increasingly expected as well as personalised customer experiences.

Despite lingering challenges brought about by COVID-19, store managers, owners, and leaders in the QSR industry have a strong positive outlook for growth in the next three to five years.

A report from Pentaquest released this month revealed that respondents expect a “50 to 100% increase” in stores in the said period.

A majority of franchisees or store managers that were part of the survey pool were also not worried about competitor stores or brands, and instead say they are “focussed on better optimisation of their stores and operations, increasing staff training, and growing customer loyalty.”

Other trends revealed in the report include increased demand for healthier menus, as well as
having food that can be shared via social media. Speed of service is increasingly expected as well as personalised customer experiences.

Pentaquest, a company that utilises behavioural science and gamification in offering solutions to organisations, also expects technology to continue to shape the QSR industry, including centralisation of POS systems, staff training, engagement platforms and rise of self-service kiosks.
