Ferguson Plarre Bakehouses has opened its first-ever drive-thru store in its 120-year history.
The milestone outlet is located in Plenty Road, South Morang and also features a brand new look for the brand.
The store also includes a brand new cold drinks menu that features the Cakeshake, shake made with a real slice of cake. Other items include frappes and smoothies.
“This is Ferguson Plarre’s first drive-thru and another exciting milestone in our 120 year history. It also features one of the first full implementations of our new brand look and feel!” marketing manager Chris Cotton said in a LinkedIn post.
“I’m so proud of the final result after months of work and feel lucky to have worked on the project with such a talented group of people.”
The drive-thru site is open seven days a week.
In a media release sent to QSR Media, CEO Steve Plarre said the opening will be used to "optimise the customer experience and embed it in future drive thru locations."
"We’ve already ear-marked a number of locations for development," he said. “We believe there is a big opportunity to provide a genuine alternative to the fried chicken and burger heavy options that adorn most major roads. If you’re going to have a treat, why not make it a good one.”
