RFG wins five medals at Golden Bean Roaster 2011

Blends from RFG’s Michel’s Patisserie, bb’s cafe and Barista’s Choice brands bested some of the top notch coffee roasters in Australia.

Frothing up against some of the best coffee roasters and baristas around Australia, Retail Food Group has been awarded for its coffee roasting prowess at the recent CSR Golden Bean Roaster 2011 Competition on the Sunshine Coast.

Blends from RFG’s Michel’s Patisserie, bb’s cafe and Barista’s Choice brands battled it out against 1,200 other competitors at the event. RFG brands entered the milk and espresso sections of the competition, taking away five medals during the three-day competition.

RFG Head of Strategy Gary Alford said RFG’s expert roasting team had used all of its skills and qualifications to gain recognition for each brand’s particular blends.

“Making quality coffee is serious business and Retail Food Group realises that the perfect cup of coffee relies on quality blended and roasted beans expertly,” he said.

“We are dedicated to ensuring that each and every one of our stores and staff selling coffee are put through intense training to ensure consistency throughout, bringing customers an honest quality cup of coffee every time.

“This can however only happen if our roasting process is meticulously undertaken.

“Our medal haul is an amazing achievement at a competition that is the largest coffee roasting competition in Australia and one of the largest in the world.”

RFG’s award wins included:

· 2 Silver Medals to Michel’s Patisserie and bb’s café in the Milk Franchise section

· 2 Bronze Medals to Michel’s Patisserie and bb’s café in the Espresso section

· 1 Bronze Medal to Baristas Choice in the main Milk based section
