KFC passes on the salt

Launch of initiative to reduce salt intake.

In recognition of World Salt Awareness Week, KFC have launched an initiative to encourage customers to reduce their salt intake levels, with team members throughout the country promoting unsalted chips throughout the week.

Commenting on the move, Fritz Meyer, Chief Food Innovation and Technology Officer at KFC Australia said “KFC is committed to helping our customers reduce their salt intake; we have conducted a number of trials in-store to determine the best way to communicate and engage customers about their salt intake and we’re very proud to launch during Salt Awareness Week”.

The move is believed to be a first in the industry, though most players have been aware about the importance of encouraging more healthy choices amongst their customers for some time.
