Eagle Boys’ gourmet pizza range a hit among Aussies
The pizza chain’s latest line of premium pizzas now account for 5% of all sales after just two weeks of being on the market.
In a statement, Eagle Boys said the customers’ reception proved that Australians are looking for gourmet delicacies without the high price tags attached.
Eagle Boys’ gourmet range includes Peri Peri Chicken, Spiced Moroccan Lamb, and Bacon, Bocconcini & Brie toppings from just $12.
“This confirms our research which found that customers want a slice of gourmet opulence without the price tag to match. Importantly, the range is helping us to attract new customers from competitors, as well as existing ones looking to try something different,” said Tom Clayton, Eagles Boys’ CEO.
“Australians crave more variety and expect new flavour innovations and toppings, and while they want a gourmet pizza, they baulk at the hefty premium pizza price tag – they still want to feed the
family for under $20,” he said.
Clayton said Eagle Boys’ latest offering was a result of complaints from Australians who “feel paying $20 for a gourmet pizza is a rip off.”
“We agree and that’s why we’ve taken action,” he said.
Clayton said the pizza chain’s menu has doubled in size compared to competitors thanks to this year’s menu revamp – the biggest revamp in the company’s 23-year history.
“This year we unwrapped 31 new menu items, including new Lighter Choices pizzas, premium pizzas, kids meals, new side dishes, new desserts and drinks, but we believe our latest gourmet range is our best work yet,” he said.
