Crust launches seasonal menu

It features the Heirloom Tomato Upper Crust pizza.

Handpicked ‘in season’ Heirloom tomatoes, three types of locally sourced mozzarella cheeses, and oregano verde all make up the new offering.

Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars Head Chef, Peter Augoustis, said it is about time someone recreated one of the world’s most popular pizzas to be enjoyed the way it was intended.

“As there are so few elements on this pizza, when you bite into it, you taste all of them. We saw this as an opportunity to showcase top quality, seasonal ingredients grown by some of Australia’s top producers in our reinvention of the margherita,” he said.

Augoustis explained, “Heirloom tomatoes are in season during spring and summer in Australia, so we thought this would be the perfect time to feature this light and fresh pizza on the Crust menu.”

Also on the new seasonal menu is the Caramelised Fennel Salad made from top quality local produce. It features locally scoured prosciutto, hazelnuts, fresh pear, and mixed leaves. The salad is finished off with a drizzle of South Australian Blood Orange Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil, made exclusively for Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars by Pendleton Fine Foods.
