Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar sources its new and unique pizza topping from a Sydney family
The largest crab specie served on a pizza.
Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar puts the spotlight on the Alaskan King Crab, featuring it on the chain's new Upper Crust Singapore Chili Crab Pizza.
The King Crab is known for its delicate sweet flavour, succulent white meat and rich texture. The crab's flavour is further elevated with shallots and caramelised onions on a hoisin sweet chilli and garlic base, garnished with fresh coriander and chilli.
Part of the chain's new menu, the pizza is one of 11 new pizzas.
Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar Managing Director Michael Rose said Crust’s product development team had worked tirelessly to source the new crab from an Australian supplier.
“We are so excited to be bringing King Crab to our menu and to the palates of Australian consumers,” he added. “Sourced by a Sydney family business, the crab is cleaned, cooked in seawater and blast frozen on board within minutes of the catch, preserving its superior quality and flavour. "
