Brumby's Bakery readies its Hot Cross Buns for Easter
Expects to sell more with Nutella-filled buns.
Brumby's Bakery expects this year's 'Bun Thursday' to be the biggest yet with the help of Nutella.
Due to the popularity of its recently released Hot Cross Buns with Nutella, “we are anticipating that even people who wouldn’t traditionally eat Hot Cross Buns will be eager to try a bun with Nutella® so this could be our biggest year yet,” said Brumby’s Managing Director Kevin Waite.
Every year, Brumby's welcomes Easter with 'Bun Thursday,' where about a quarter of a million Hot Cross Buns will be baked and sold at its stores nationwide.
The bakery chain noted that the Thursday before Easter is the most popular day for people purchasing Brumby’s famous buns, thus aptly naming it 'Bun Thursday.'
Waite said Brumby’s traditional scratch baking techniques helped to make their Hot Cross Buns so popular.
“Our stores bake their Hot Cross Buns fresh daily using traditional scratch baking techniques, and they will be running their ovens at full steam from now until Easter to keep up with demand,” he emphasised.
Brumby’s team members from across the country, including those in its South East Queensland corporate
office, will be assigned to a store to assist Franchisees on their busiest day of the year. From Brumby’s Managing Director to Brumby’s Marketing Coordinators, the entire team is called in to get Hot Cross Buns freshly baked, packed and out to customers for their Easter celebrations.
