Boost Juice's green smoothies to target health buffs
Chain concocts own versions of popular fruit-and-veg drinks.
For the past couple of years, green smoothies and juices have become the rage among health-conscious circles and Hollywood stars like Oprah and Gwyneth Paltrow because they help provide recommended dietary amounts of vegetable and fruit nutrients in easily consumed, portable drinks.
Boost Juice is riding on this trend with the launch of its green smoothies and juices, and the juice chain’s founder Janine Allis said the new line of healthy drinks were specifically concocted for active Australians.
“We know our customers are not perfect and we love that. We love it that people push their bodies to the limit - running a marathon, jumping off a cliff, burning the candle at both ends. So we created our green range to give your body a credit in return for demanding so much from it,” said Boost Juice founder Janine Allis.
The Boost Juice green menu offers four 450mls shake variants.
The Grape Escape (617 kJ) is made from spinach, pineapple, green grapes, banana, coconut water and ice. The Caribbean Green (752 kJ) consists of mango, passion fruit, banana, spinach, mango nectar, coconut water and ice. The Mint Condition (378 kJ) is a mix of spinach, mint celery, apple, cucumber and ice. And lastly, the Veggie Garden (401 kJ) combines spinach, cucumber, celery, carrot, orange, chia seeds and ice with.
Boost Juice green smoothies and juices are also a great choice for people who want to improve their nutrition but do not like the taste of vegetables, or simply do not have the time or patience to prepare green smoothies and juices at home.
“Green smoothies and juices are an easy way to increase your daily intake of fruit and vegetables. One Boost green smoothie provides at least one serving of greens, and at least two servings of fruit. Freshly blending vegetables and fruits just before you drink them makes the vitamins and minerals easier to absorb, and also makes the green stuff much more enjoyable,” added Allis.
Boost said it takes green smoothies and juices a notch higher by making sure each cup served is freshly squeezed, dairy-free, gluten-free, low-fat, made from whole fruit and vegetables, and great-tasting. Boost’s taste guarantee also applies to the new green line: After 2 sips, customers who do not like their smoothie or juice will be given another free drink.
The brand promised more green options will be available via the Boost app, which launches sometime in early 2014.
