3 reasons why Lamb Weston is a cut above other potato brands
All about consistency, higher quality and diversity.
A relatively new entrant in the Australia and New Zealand markets, Lamb Weston is quickly amassing a strong customer base among the largest QSRs in both countries.
Its secret to competitive success? A focus on three core advantages– delivering a consistent product, serving a higher quality compared to competitors, and offering great product diversity, said Anita Lee of Markwell Foods, the Australian owned and operated company which has made Lamb Weston available in Australia.
Consistency
Lee said Lamb Weston has devised rigorous manufacturing and processing systems that ensure all products are consistent from the first to the hundredth batch delivered to stores.
“Each individual chip is passed through stringent quality checks from the seed being planted in the soil to the potatoes being harvested, then finally the production and logistics process. Each product is of the highest standard and is designed to maximise yield. The higher the yield, the more profitable your chip program becomes,” said Lee.
Higher quality = Higher yields
Lee cited how Lamb Weston products are designed to provide higher yields per basket, which brings in more profits for each facility. Lamb Weston's coated fries like Stealth brand French fries also provide a crispier crunch and longer hold times, which she said should lead to more satisfied customers.
“Lamb Weston's higher quality products deliver higher yields thanks to the advanced technology involved in the Lamb Weston production process and their stringent quality controls during the farming process,” said Lee.
Diversity
Last but not the least, the sheer diversity of Lamb Weston products ensures that each QSR can find an option that will be suited to their existing menus or even give owners new ideas on fresher offerings.
“With hundreds of individual products, there is a solution available to every facility's' requirements with Lamb Weston,” said Lee. “There are hundreds of traditional fry options as well as 2nd fry options which you can offer in your facility to regenerate interest in sides (fries, curly fries, mash, etc.) and LTO opportunities.”
Lee listed the diverse range of Lamb Weston products, which include everything from traditional 10mm and 13mm fries, shoestring fries, and Stealth Fries to value added 2nd fry options such as potato wedges, gems, Twister curly fries, as well as CrissCut fries, platter cut fries, onion rings, Sweet Things Sweet Potato options, beer battered options and mash potatoes.
