Below is a Q&A with Gloria Jean’s Coffees.

QSR Media: Tell us more about the new Sereno blend that your brand has developed.

Gloria Jean’s: The Sereno blend is our new smooth, medium roast coffee that is now available in our Gloria Jean’s coffee houses across the country. We chose the name Sereno, for this blend as it means serene and calm in Italian, which is a characteristic of this coffee. It is an elegant and bright blend made from the highest quality 100 per cent Arabica beans sourced from Rainforest Alliance certified farms. Sereno provides our guests with a choice to our existing Original blend, which is a dark roast that delivers a bold and full of body coffee, that’s been loved by Gloria Jean’s Coffees guests since we launched in Australia.

QSR Media: What inspired your brand to come up with this kind of blend?

Gloria Jean’s: We noticed a growing demand from Australian coffee drinkers for a smoother, more mellow coffee experience. We’ve responded to this demand by creating Sereno Blend, which appeals to our guests who prefer a lighter coffee. Our coffee houses around the country now offer Sereno and the Original Blend, providing our guests with two blend options for their preferred type of coffee.

QSR Media: What makes it stand out?

Gloria Jean’s: Sourcing and roasting the highest quality beans was a critical element to ensure Sereno Blend meets the discerning taste of our guests and Australian coffee drinkers. Sereno Blend is made from the finest quality Rainforest Alliance certified beans which are meticulously roasted by our master roaster at our state-of-the-art roasting facility in Sydney, to create a blend that is a lively and light tasting coffee with hints of fresh citrus and dark cocoa.

QSR Media: How do you think consumers will respond to the product?

Gloria Jean’s: We conducted testing in selected coffee houses across the country and had a positive response from new and existing guests. Guests are really enjoying the variety of choice between Original and Sereno blend.

QSR Media: Any other comments?

Gloria Jean’s: To run in conjunction with the launch of Sereno Blend, a Gloria Jean’s Coffees Moments competition has been launched inviting coffee drinkers to share their coffee moment by simply uploading an image to https://moments.gloriajeanscoffees.com.au/ for the chance to win $10,000. The most creative example of how Gloria Jean’s Coffees brightens a guest’s day will be awarded the generous prize.
