Mad Mex launches plant-based virtual menu via Uber Eats
The “Powered by Plants” will be trialled in five of the chain’s locations before a national rollout.
Mad Mex has partnered with Uber Eats to launch its plant-based virtual menu, aiming to appeal showcase its growing offering to health-conscious consumers.
The new “Powered By Plants” concept will be trialled in five of its locations before being rolled out nationwide.
Mad Mex said it was also the first QSR chain to include Simplot’s “100% Not” range of vegan products. It has been recently shortlisted for Range of the Year in the 2020 Vegan Awards from plant-based living magazine Nourish.
The chain said the move also supports their recently-released “Something is Everything” meat-free manifesto, which encourages its customer base to to go meat–free when they can.
Last month saw the chain launch its MeatFree Monday initiative offering $2 off every plant-based meal during that day of the week. The brand said it has continually been investing in sustainability initiatives by using recyclable paper straws, wooden cutlery and biodegradable, environmentally-friendly packaging for its meals, diverting hundreds of tonnes of waste from landfill.
