Pizza sales to surge 30% over extended Easter
Eagle Boys is expecting to sell more than 700,000 pizzas between Good Friday (22 April) and 26 April.
According to Eagle Boys, this is up 30% compared to a usual weekend.
Eagle Boys Managing Director Todd Clayton said this Easter long weekend was expected to be one of the biggest pizza-eating periods of the year, along with State of Origin nights and Melbourne Cup.
“With the Anzac Day public holiday giving Australians an extra day off, this Easter is expected to be one of the strongest we have seen for several years. At the same time, it coincides with school holidays when families are looking to take it easy and enjoy an affordable, but tasty meal,” Mr Clayton said.
“Eagle Boys stores will be open Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday across the Easter long weekend with selected stores also open on Good Friday to cater to demand,” he said.
“We’re expecting to use more than 98 tonnes of mozzarella and 63 tonnes of pizza sauce to make more than 700,000 pizzas across the Easter break.
“While seafood pizzas, like the Seafood Platter and Prawn & Avocado and Garlic Prawn, are expected to be popular on Good Friday, we’re expecting our gourmet Butcher’s Block and Eagle Boys Works to be the most popular across the weekend.”
Mr Clayton said Eagle Boys stores across the country had stocked up and put on extra staff to keep up with demand.
