Hungry Jack’s deal with Scoopon a first in Australia
This is the first time a major fast food outlet partnered with a group-buying site in the country.
Hungry Jack’s recently teamed up with group buying site Scoopon to run an exclusive national discounted meal deal. The deal enabled Scoopon to promote to its two million national subscribers a $2 Whopper and fries meal.
A Scoopon statement said, “Last year online group sites generated $498.4 million in sales in Australia and are forecast to achieve more than $1 billion in sales in 2015, according to technology analysts Telsyte. Generally group-buying sites offer deals on local goods and services, however national deals provide an opportunity to reach a much broader audience and attract new subscribers.”
The deal, according to Scoopon, is helping the Hungry Jack’s brand become more social as it connects the fast food chain to Scoopon’s significant subscriber base of highly engaged and social media savvy members.
Jon Beros, general manager of sales at Scoopon, revealed that national deals and partnering with major and trusted brands will be a key focus for the site in 2012.
Scoopons for the Hungry Jack’s meal deal are valid until 8 May 2012, with the meal available from over 300 Hungry Jack’s restaurants in Australia.
