Guess who’s Brumby’s new Bread Ambassador
Clue: He’s a retired cricketer.
Brumby’s Bakery announced that they have teamed up with retired cricketer, Matthew Hayden.
Hayden was appointed as the brand’s new Bread Ambassador at Retail Food Group’s 2013 Evolve Franchisee Conference on the Gold Coast.
“We couldn’t be happier to be in partnership with a proud and successful Australian like Matthew Hayden, who shares the Brumby’s values of family, community and sustainability,” said Kevin Waite, Brumby’s Managing Director.
Hayden added that he has experienced firsthand where the wheat comes from and what goes on in the bread-making process in Brumby’s stores, as he had spent a weekend on the farm with one of Brumby’s wheat farmers and experienced a shift in one of the brand’s stores to understand these.
“As a dad, I want my kids to grow up knowing where their food comes from, and at Brumby’s you know that the bread is baked from scratch, has no preservatives and is made from 100% Aussie wheat.
“Since retiring from cricket, I’ve dedicated my life to encouraging everyone to enjoy the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle.
“Making good food choices are just one aspect of living a healthy lifestyle, but one of the most important,” said Hayden.
