Kate McMahon: Continuing to see successful franchise partners, grow and develop with the group; working and developing new partnerships with our partners in Dubai and Philippines, and working on developing our brands internationally.
QSR Media: What 3 goals are you focused on?
McMahon: Presently, I am focusing on the annual development of our new menus and exploring the opportunities with our kids meals. As Sushi kids meals is an untapped market, watch this space as we have some exciting new meal deals coming up sure to bring out everyone’s inner child.
I am also focusing on our constant goal of increasing store profits for our Franchise Partners, with increased:
- Customer count
- Average customer spend
- Brand awareness
After seeing great success with our "Manage To Own Program" last financial year, where passionate entrepreneurs can get started for less and pay for the rest of the business from the profits they make. A key focus for our B2B marketing team is initiatives to continue to promote this fantastic opportunity for energetic entrepreneurs.
QSR Media: What long-term changes are you planning on?
McMahon:
- Kids meal deals
- Incorporating superfoods in our menus like black rice which has more antioxidants than blue berries
QSR Media: What are your key business philosophies?
McMahon: Surround yourself and build your team with smart and capable people. A not so much a business philosophy however something I take through life, smile you don’t own all the problems in the world.
QSR Media: What previous positions prepared you for this one and how?
McMahon: I would have to say most of my lessons that have prepared me for this role have come from my previous role in Pacific Retail Management, where I started as a Marketing & Administration Assistant and worked my way up from there. However in another life, I worked in child care, and can tell you now that taught me patience and how to be calm when everything gets a little crazy.
