McDonald's inks 10-year partnership extension with AFL
The agreement was first established in 2014.
McDonald’s has extended its partnership with the AFL with a 10-year deal in 2022.
The new partnership sees McDonald's logo appearing on the official match ball across the 2022 Toyota AFL Premiership Season and will also include the ongoing sponsorship of AFLW and the popular Macca's Kick 2 Kick program.
The partnership was first established in 2014 and since its inception, 6.5 million fans have played Macca's Kick 2 Kick across stadiums around Australia.
"To extend a further 10 years demonstrates the commitment that McDonald's has to all levels of our great game. It is incredible to work with brands that share a like-minded passion and love for Australian Football," AFL executive general manager of customer and commercial Kylie Rogers said in a statement.
"Our game is known for delivering iconic moments. Traditions like Macca's Kick 2 Kick is something that our fans love, and we cannot wait to welcome back more of these iconic moments in the future. We are excited to see what the next 10 years of this partnership can bring," AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan added.
McDonald's Australia CEO Andrew Gregory added: "With its rich history and unwavering popularity across the country, Australians have a special connection to the AFL and the experiences and moments the sport has given them over the years.”
"We are proud to extend our long-term partnership with the AFL and AFLW and play our part in helping the league continue to have a positive impact on people and communities across Australia,” he added.
The 10-year partnership is also the longest single corporate partner agreement in the AFL's history.
