KFC foots $80k wedding bill for Aussie couple
The fast-food brand held a competition for couples to share their dream proposals.
Australian couple Thank Huynh and Brian Tran were treated to a KFC-themed wedding worth $80k after winning in the KFC Weddings promotions.
KFC’s KFC Weddings promotions were first launched in 2020, where six couples won the chance to have their wedding catered for their big day.
In 2023, KFC went bigger by offering a full wedding package to one couple who can submit their most creative marriage proposal using an 11-herb-and-spiced onion ring from the limited-time BBQ Onion Ring Burger which dropped nationwide for a month.
Starting with a magical ceremony at the Sydney Opera House before progressing onto a KFC picnic on Bennelong Lawn, with all the KFC treats imaginable, the Colonel pulled out all the stops to make it the most special day of their lives, with their big day decked out with a KFC bucket-themed wedding cake, KFC buckets filled with blooms, chicken suits aplenty and personalised KFC buckets for guests.
The KFC wedding also came with the KFC grazing table featuring KFC’s iconic chicken, Hot & Crispy, Popcorn Chicken and more, with the Colonel’s final touch being the all-important bouquet bucket toss.
“We know the special role that KFC has played in so many couples’ love stories, so what could go better together than our fried chicken and a wedding! We’re delighted to see Thanh and Brian get married and celebrate their love with their friends, family and bucketloads of Kentucky Fried Chicken, and hope it’s a day they will remember for the rest of their lives together,” Tami Cunningham, CMO at KFC Australia, said.
