Grill’d announces sponsorship with AIS to develop nutrition education
Winter Olympic gold medalist Jakara Anthony will serve as a brand ambassador.
Grill’d announced a four-year sponsorship of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), which will see the brands develop nutrition education to “help active Australians understand how to refuel their bodies following exercise.”
Olympic gold medallist Jakara Anthony will serve as brand ambassador as a result of the partnership. Last month in Beijing, Jakara became just the sixth Australian – and the first in 12 years – to win gold at a Winter Olympic Games.
“As a long-time Grill’d fan, I am very proud to be working with Grill’d as they announce their sponsorship of the AIS. Being an Australian athlete, I have benefited from AIS support over my journey from a young aspiring athlete to an Olympic Gold medallist. It’s really exciting to see Australian businesses recognising the important role the AIS plays and partnering with them to help support both current and future Australian athletes to achieve their dreams,” Anthony said in a statement.
Ben Goss, chief marketing officer for Grill’d, added: “We have provided Grill’d menu items to over 28 AFL and NRL clubs post their training and games so we know athletes, nutritionists, dieticians and coaching staff recognise the nutritional benefits of our much loved product. In addition, many elite athletes, such as Jakara and our key partners at the Melbourne Storm and Melbourne Boomers, eat Grill’d on a regular basis, so from a nutritional stand-point this is a perfect match.”
