Eagle Boys thanks Vinnies’ volunteers with pizza
Volunteers for the Vinnies’ CEO Sleepout events are having free pizza as the pizza chain confirms Happiness Fund deliveries in support of the charity’s 2015 fundraiser.
Nick Vincent, Eagle Boys General Manager Retail, said the Happiness Fund was intended to support charity and community efforts that work to make a real difference at a local level.
“Business cannot operate in isolation from the communities that it relies upon for success – so it is important to identify causes that have meaning and importance and give something back where possible,” he said.
“Volunteers are the backbone of communities and without their efforts, it would be difficult for the Vinnies CEO Sleepout and other fundraisers to have such a significant impact.”
“Vinnies has made such a difference through the CEO Sleepout, having raised $24 million to date, and we hope to play a small part in making the 2015 events a success.”
The St Vincent De Paul Society (Vinnies) is holding Sleepouts across Australia this June and providing Government, community and companies’ top brass with a small glimpse of what homelessness looks like for the 105,000 Australians living on the street.
With this year marking the 10th anniversary of the annual event, Vinnies has set the bar high in 2015 with it seeking to raise $10 million to aid those in need.
Eagle Boys has confirmed it will help with catering for a number of events being held on Thursday 18 June and Thursday 25 June via its community ‘helping hand’ program, the Eagle Boys Happiness Fund.
