The franchisor said it would open two Taco Bell stories this calendar year.
Franchisor Restaurant Brands has announced a lift in first-half profit, helped by a boost in sales from their KFC stores in Australia and New Zealand.
Specifically, first-half underlying profit rose 14.4% to NZ$25m (A$20.3m) whlist sales from their 61 Australian KFC outlets were up 4.2% A$99.5m, due in part to store upgrades and digital channels.
Sales at its 103 New Zealand KFC stores rose 7.9% to NZ$193.5m (A$180.5m), as the franchisor opened three more stores and rolled out food delivery further.
Restaurant Brands also disclosed that it would open two Taco Bell stores in NSW, one in Blacktown and the Newcastle suburb of Jesmond, as part of its plans to open 60 Taco Bell stores in ANZ over the next five years.
"This combined with potential further acquisitions and the refurbishment programme in Hawaii now picking up place, is beginning to place significant demands on the capital resources of the company," Restaurant Brands said in its announcement.
