Guzman y Gomez Australian Q3 sales surge on back of delivery tie-up
The fast-food chain said it is on track to open 32 restaurants.
Guzman y Gomez's comparable sales in Australia rose 6.6% in the third quarter of the 2026 financial year (Q3 2026), driven by strong performance from its exclusive delivery partnership with Uber Eats.
This represented a slowdown from the same period last year, when comp sales grew 11.1%, but still exceeded the consensus forecast of 5.13% for the quarter.
Last January, GYG announced plans to only partner with Uber Eats for its delivery service, saying that this marks a natural progression of its nine-year partnership with the food delivery giant.
GYG said it reaffirms its guidance and expects the Australia Segment underlying EBITDA as a percentage of network sales to expand to 6% to 6.2% in FY2026, compared to 5.7% in FY25. It also said it is on track to open 32 new restaurants in Australia in FY26, including 23 drive-thrus.
