Here’s what you need to know about McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme’s collab in the US
The phased rollout for the collaboration will start this H2.
Phased rollout for McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme’s brand collaboration will begin in the second half of 2024 which will see the fast food giant serve up Krispy Kreme doughnuts across restaurants in the US
Krispy Kreme will deliver three of its most popular doughnuts to McDonald’s restaurants daily. They’ll be available individually, or in boxes of six, starting at breakfast and lasting throughout the day – while supplies last.
The three doughnut flavours will be the Original Glazed, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut, and the Chocolate Iced Kreme.
The phased national rollout follows a successful test across 160 restaurants in the US.
According to Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, the partnership will give way for new business opportunities in the breakfast category throughout the day.
Meanwhile, Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth said the partnership with McDonald’s will provide customers more access to their doughnuts.
“Significantly, by making Kreme Krispy accessible to fans nationwide through this partnership, we expect to more than double our points of access by the end of 2026. The partnership accelerates the development of our existing Delivered Fresh Daily channel, creating operating leverage through distribution density and production utilization,” said Charlesworth.
Krispy Kreme has been scaling its supply chain, building a support team, adding technology and new equipment, and enhancing field training to support its Delivered Fresh Daily expansion, which includes this phased rollout.
McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme expect to fully roll out this concept in the US by the end of 2026.
