Jake Spencer has been appointed as the new General Manager of Mexican QSR chain, Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill.
QSR Media: What makes you excited about your new position?
Spencer: The strength of the Salsa’s brand. Our brand is built on freshness and flavour.
We believe in the moment when food gives you pleasure and our customers tell us Salsa’s we do create those moments. Our freshness and flavour is second to none.
QSR Media: What three goals are you focused on?
Spencer: I am focussed on just one goal which is for Salsa’s to become the biggest and most loved Mexican food experience in Australia.
QSR Media: What will you do differently in this position?
Spencer: Nothing. I will be making sure we stay true to our brand.
QSR Media: What changes are you planning for?
Spencer: We are planning to stay as the biggest in our category and double in size within the next three years. To do this we need great people in our business and great franchisees to partner with as we grow.
QSR Media: What are your key business philosophies?
Spencer: I have 3 that help keep me on track:

QSR Media: What previous positions prepared you for this one and how?
Spencer: I had previously worked for Boost Juice (also in the Retail Zoo stable) running company operations a few years ago.
My time at Boost helped me to value great people, great partnerships and strong, reliable back-end franchise support systems.
