Chicken Treat issues statement on caustic soda accident

An urgent investigation was conducted.

Chicken Treat’s outlet in Blair Street, Bunbury remain closed on 23 May 2013, while an urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the recent accident is on going.

It has been reported that diners became sick after swallowing caustic soda. The store accidentally mistook caustic soda for salt.

The brand released a statement saying, “Chicken Treat deeply regrets that a number of customers who yesterday visited the Chicken Treat Blair Street, Bunbury store later required medical assistance. We sincerely wish all those people affected a speedy recovery.”

Chicken Treat also said that relevant external authorities have already been contacted and that the brand will be fully cooperative with any inquiries the authorities will deem necessary.
