Brumby’s appoints new MD, Steve Pagett

Brumby’s Bakeries has appointed Steve Pagett, a 30-year veteran in the franchise industry, as its new Brand System’s Managing Director for its 320-store brand.

As the brand continues to progress, franchise owner—Retail Food Group (RFG), stated they have big plans for Brumby’s Bakeries, especially with the demand of freshly baked goods in the market. To put these plans into action, Mr. Pagett is determined to focus on providing extensive training and support to their franchisees.

An essential aspect of this program would be the presence of the $1 million RFG Training Academy, which is equipped with the latest modern technology and state-of-the-art classrooms to develop the necessary skills of the employees in managing and operating their store.

“By equipping new franchisees with the skills they need from the very beginning, and providing ongoing development to existing franchisees, we can foster motivated and successful small business owners who can develop a legion of loyal local customers,” Mr Pagett said.

 

Q&A with Steve Pagett

QSR Media: What makes you excited about your new position?
Steve: I’m excited to lead the Brumby’s brand, particularly at a time like now as we have some great projects ahead of us including our Project Evo which is our ‘store of the future’ concept.

QSR Media: What three goals are you focused on?
Steve: The three most important areas of our business are organic store growth, brand point of difference and differentiating us from our competitors through innovation and ROI – Return on investment for our Franchise network

QSR Media: What will you do differently in this position?
Steve: In any role I’ve worked in I’m passionate about getting involved with the business and frequently meeting the people who work in the business on a daily basis and I see this role no differently. I will work strategically to drive innovation for Brumby’s so we can continue to grow and remain relevant to our consumers

QSR Media: What changes are you planning for?
Steve: The biggest opportunity is our brand growth, particularly through Brumby’s Go! It’s a real winner and our consumers are excited about the offer Go provides

QSR Media: What are your key business philosophies?
Steve: 1. I believe you need to listen to your customers
              2. Understand who your core customers are
              3. deliver the brand promise
              4. Dare to dream

QSR Media: What previous positions prepared you for this one and how?
Steve: With many years in franchising I believe I have the passion and experience to make the difference
