Restaurant Brands New Zealand snaps up Taco Bell franchise from Collins Foods
The transaction is still subject to regulatory clearance and completion conditions.
Restaurant Brands New Zealand Limited, through its Australian subsidiary, Restaurant Brands Australia Holdings Pty Ltd (RBA), is set to take over Taco Bell’s Australian franchise from Collins Foods under a conditional, legally binding agreement.
The move effectively begins the transfer of the franchise from Collins Foods to RBA, pending final terms and approvals.
Restaurant Brands already operates Taco Bell outlets in New South Wales and in other international markets, and is a long-time partner of parent company Yum! Brands.
The transaction is still subject to regulatory clearance and completion conditions.
Collins Foods will continue running the existing Taco Bell network in Australia until the deal is finalised.
As part of the transition, some stores are expected to close during a broader restructuring of the chain’s footprint.
The companies said they are working on transition plans for staff as the handover progresses.
