Redundancies push franchisee inquiries
Retail Food Group is extending access to an assistance package for potential franchisees to help them transition to a new career.
The retail food brand manager and franchisor said in an announcement that inquiries from people interested in owning their own franchised business soared with a 64% inquiry spike nationally in the period between June and August. RFG noted the interest from former Queensland public servants.
RFG Head of Emerging Markets Gavin Nixon said inquiries from former Queensland public servants have been growing in recent months, with a spike following the announcement of QLD government redundancies.
Mr Nixon said, "Understandably, there are many people exploring their options and looking to take control of their own destiny by starting their own business. At the same time, starting out by yourself can be daunting, which is why proven franchise systems are appealing.”
Financial assistance and fee discounts will be available to approved applicants.
ASX-listed RFG owns the retail food brands Donut King, Michel’s Patisserie, Pizza Capers Gourmet Kitchen, bb’s café, Brumby’s Bakery, and Esquires Coffee Houses.
