Quick Service Restaurant Holdings acquires Chooks Fresh & Tasty

QSRH will acquire the stores from Chooks founder Mr Steve Hansen to bring the Group’s total to approximately 600 stores globally.

According to QSRH, Chooks stores will transition through a comprehensive rebranding program into Chicken Treat operations during the next eight months.

The Chooks business consists of 40 chicken based fast food stores operating in Western Australia, Queensland, and Tasmania.

“Chooks has been successfully operating within local communities for the past two decades. The deal delivers a multitude of benefits while on the one hand it furthers the Group’s aggressive growth strategy, it also greatly strengthens Chicken Treat’s market presence in what is a highly competitive trading environment,” said QSRH Chief Executive Officer Mark Lindsay.

The wholly Australian owned QSRH plans to open a further 200 stores within the next five years as it continues to expand its brands across the east coast of Australia. The Group's chicken brands are Red Rooster, Chicken Treat, and Oporto with stores in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and China.
