In celebration of its second anniversary, Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt unveiled two new stores opening in the next few months, new to-go and take-home options, and new fruity flavors perfect for the summer season.
New stores
Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt arrived in Australia in 2011, and has opened three stores in the past two years – one in Port Melbourne, another in Torquay on Victoria’s Surf Coast and the third at Sydney’s Bondi Beach.
Australian master franchisee Joe Rossi revealed that the fourth and fifth stores should be up and running by the first week of December and in early 2014, respectively. The fourth store will open in Werribee, Victoria, approximately 25km west of Melbourne’s central business district. Meanwhile, the fifth store will open north of Melbourne in early 2014.
“Werribee is at the heart of the Melbourne-Geelong growth corridor and is both an expanding commuter town and, with Werribee Park and Open Range Zoo, a tourist destination in its own right,” said Rossi on why the new location was chosen and how it fit with the community-based business model that has been driving the brand’s expansion and growth in Australia.
“We’ve identified similar locations both in Victoria and up the east coast into New South Wales and Queensland,” he added, which could hint at more stores in the works.
To-go options
This December also marks the Australian launch of Orange Leaf To Go, which will allow customers to purchase pre-packed containers of froyo and cookie sandwiches filled with Orange Leaf froyo from their local store.
“The new To Go offering provides our customers with the opportunity to enjoy Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt whenever and wherever they want it,” said Rossi. “Since opening our first Australian store we have had countless requests for a ‘take home’ option, so this is an exciting development for our customers and for our business.”
Each store will have a slightly different variation of To Go cookie sandwiches. This is because local storeowners will create the To Go cookie sandwiches using locally sourced cookies along with a variety of their store’s regular and seasonal frozen yogurt flavours.
Orange Leaf To Go pint sized (470ml) containers will cost from $5 to $8. Customers should also be pleased to know that the all To Go containers are freezer-friendly, designed to combat freezer burn, dishwasher safe, recyclable and reusable.
Fruity flavours
Lastly, Orange Leaf confirmed that in time for the summer season, it will be launching a number of fruit based flavors at all Orange Leaf stores in Australia. These flavors should be patterned after the fresh taste quality of the recently released banana flavour frozen yogurt, which is made from fresh Australian grown bananas.
