Funky Mexican Cantina expands to Western Australia
The store is situated on the water at Dolphin Quay in Western Australia.
The team behind the Mexican concept is the same team behind steakhouse, Hog’s Australia, and they’ve been trialling the concept for several years next door to Hog’s headquarters in Cleveland, Brisbane.
Hog’s CEO Ross Worth said the second brand is a valuable addition to the company and was introduced after much research and a trip to the US to uncover hot food trends that would also stand the test of time.
One of Hog’s franchisees, Manish Gupta, is at the helm of the new Funky Mexican Cantina Mandurah. Gupta is reportedly known locally for his humanitarian efforts in helping feed the homeless as he is for his achievements as a restaurateur.
“There’s no one better positioned to successfully launch Funky’s in WA than Manish, and we know the locals will love this latest offering,” Worth said.
With a second WA franchise to launch shortly in November at Secret Harbour, Perth, Funky’s will continue to open franchises around Australia with existing Hog’s franchisees.
