The Coffee Club hitting store expansion goals
On track to open 45 stores in 2014.
The Coffee Club is set to open 21 stores between now and Christmas, opening 45 stores in total worldwide this year -- 25 in Australia and 20 internationally.
Jason Ball, CEO of The Coffee Club’s parent company Minor DKL Food Group, said “The Coffee Club’s record growth this year has been fuelled by regional and greenfield developments in Australia, while internationally we’ve experienced solid growth in New Zealand and Asia.”
“For our Australian market we will finish the year with 25 new stores including 12 that are under construction and set to open before Christmas.”
“In addition to opening our first shipping container concept stores at Brisbane airport earlier in the year, we have secured positions within new developments from Western Australia right across to the eastern seaboard.”
International expansion for The Coffee Club has accelerated within the past 18 months after official agreements were signed with Indonesia, Malaysia and the Gulf Coast Council (GCC) region of the Middle East.
“This year, The Coffee Club has opened two stores in Indonesia and one in Malaysia with more in the pipeline. We are also excited to get our first stores on the ground in Dubai and Abu Dhabi by the end of 2014,” Ball said.
“New Zealand has also been powering ahead with its store expansion strategy with five opening this year, pushing it past 53 stores across the country.”
He added that The Coffee Club’s new store design and refreshed focus on franchise recruitment had triggered significant interest in the brand recently.
“We have had 21 stores undergo refurbishments this year and it’s not only our customers who are enjoying our new look, but we are also finding it’s catching the attention of prospective franchisees as well."
“Our investment in store and menu innovation has also seen heightened interest from existing franchisees who are eager to become Multi-Site Operators in our network.
“This year we also launched a new approach to our franchise recruitment, with ‘Join The Club’ spearheading our communication with people interested in owning their own The Coffee Club store.”
