Check out Cafe2U’s latest ‘Acceleration Package’

It is a program for franchise partners.

Café2U introduced the Acceleration Package, which will allow franchise partners to build their confidence and hone their skills needed in the business through a four-week training program.

Below is a Q&A with John Stanton, Australasian Franchise Recruitment Manager at Cafe2U.

QSR Media: Tell us a bit more about the Acceleration Package?

Stanton: The Acceleration Package is a comprehensive four-week training and business launch package that fast tracks success, confidence and profit.

Week 1 is classroom style training at our National Office in Sydney which covers everything from the origins of coffee through to an advanced barista course and a full business management course.

Week 2 is a preparation week at home under the direction or the Franchisee Development Manager that will control the business launch.

During this week the vehicle, equipment and stock arrives, council and health requirements are met and the territory report is studied in detail so a plan for the launch can be created.

Week 3 & 4 sees the franchise partner on the road with the Franchisee Development Manager by their side full time.

The aim of the final two weeks is to develop the skills the franchise partner learnt in training, build their confidence in themselves and the Cafe2U business model and create a run of 25-30 regular stops which will allow the franchise partner to be achieving the initial goal of $500 a day in sales right from day one.

Of course, this is all backed by our revenue guarantee...any shortfall in sales will be covered by Cafe2U so the franchisee partner knows that regardless of what happens in the two week lunch they will bank a minimum of $5,000. This takes away the usual concerns around cash flow that most people face in starting a new business and allows the franchise partner to concentrate on learning the business and building relationships with their customers.

QSR Media: What's it doing in terms of franchisee recruitment?

Stanton: It is showing potential franchisees that we have total confidence in what we do. Our guarantee of both revenue and extending the launch if we don't hit the stated target is the real key.

Of course there are always nerves and concerns when starting a new business but knowing that your income is guaranteed and that you will have full time support for at least two weeks and longer if required eases these fears. In terms of recruitment just saying 'trust us, this works' doesn't mean anything.

Being able to back up our promises with guarantees...and the fact that we have successfully launched over 100 franchises this way over the past four years gives us a huge advantage when a potential franchisee is comparing Cafe2U with alternate franchises or business models.

QSR Media: How is it unique in the industry?

Stanton: Every franchise system has some sort of training and launch program. I don't know of any others that offer a guaranteed income though.

This is what shows that we don't just talk a good game, we stand behind what we say. It is very challenging to commit to building a new business form a zero base through to a guaranteed turnover level in just two weeks. You can't make that sort of claim without complete confidence in everything you are doing.

With more than 230 franchises around the world Cafe2U are now at that level. It is not just one part of the business that needs to work, it is the whole package.

We know from our success that we have developed the right franchisee selection process, training program, award winning coffee blend, additional food offering, vehicle and equipment package, territory mapping report and most importantly the support staff that are going to be by your side and get you through to the guaranteed level...no matter what it takes. If any one of these components are out it would be impossible to offer the guarantees that we do.

QSR Media:Any other comments?

Stanton: A quote from our website re: the launch.

“ ... if not for the Cafe2U Launch, I wouldn't’ get to the stage I’m at now for 12 months or more...I’ve only been doing this for 2 weeks, and my opinion of Cafe2U has not changed... this is the best move I have made in my life” Steve McCarthy – Cafe2U Tamworth February 2011
