Brumby's to open six more EVO store before Christmas

The bakery chain is planning to open six new Evolution stores throughout North Queensland just in time for Christmas.

Brumby’s Managing Director Matthew Marshall said North Queensland will have the second to largest saturation of Evolution (EVO) stores across the country with its new additions situated in Mackay, Townsville and Cairns.

“We opened our first EVO store in Brisbane in December 2013 and plan to keep rolling them out across the country,” said Mr Marshall.

North Queensland EVO project will be a combination of refurbishing existing stores as well as new store builds. Our ‘store of the future’ features a new logo, colour palette, store design, menu and product range making it clear Brumby’s will remain relevant to consumers throughout the coming decades.”

He said the new EVO stores also appeal to the growing ‘foodie’ and health conscious consumer market.

“With a wide range of new products including our Get Active range of breads- loaves that contain swiss seed, soy, chai seeds, quinoa and other wholesome grains, we are well placed to adapt to a market expecting innovation from their local bakery,” Marshall said.

“Our bread preservative free and baked fresh in store daily using traditional scratch baking methods and is made from 100% Australian wheat, so families can feel good about choosing Brumby’s bread for their families.”

In addition, Brumby’s is also looking to open another three new stores in the New Year, all with the new EVO look and feel.

“We are currently looking for potential franchisees to open our new EVO stores, and are looking enthusiastic self-starters who have a passion for good food and want to be their own boss,” Marshall said.

“Applicants don’t require any previous baking experience or retail experience as we offer intensive courses including baking theory, baking practise and retail operations at our world class training academy.”
