Find out more about Soul Origin's partnership with the Nude Nutritionist

Lyndi Cohen became the brand ambassador for Soul Origin to help spread the message that 'healthy food doesn't need to be fussy, complicated or boring'.

QSR Media got in touch with the people at Soul Origin to find out what this partnership means for the brand, and what direction it will take the brand in the future.

Soul Origin offers a wide range of healthy breakfast and lunch options, with everything made fresh daily in-store. The brand offers wraps, sandwiches, salads and olive oil paninis. It also has trained Baristas on hand to offer that espresso hit along with homemade sweets for an afternoon pick-me-up.

The goal at Soul Origin is to re-think the way people think about fast food. Available daily are salads and sandwiches, seasonal soups and fruit salads, along with world class coffee and sweets.

QSR Media: Can you tell us more about your partnership with Lyndi Cohen.

Soul Origin: Less than 4% of Australians get enough vegetables each day. As Australians are becoming more health conscious, Soul Origin offers a convenient, affordable and tasty way for Aussies to fill up on more of the good stuff - without the fuss.

As a nutritionist and Brand Ambassador for Soul Origin, Lyndi will help to spread the message that healthy food doesn't need to be fussy, complicated or boring. Soul Origin provides healthy, convenient options that can be enjoyed every day. After eating at Soul Origin for years, Lyndi actually approached the team asking how she could get involved. Because The Nude Nutritionist and Soul Origin share the same 'back-to-basics' approach to eating well, she jumped at the opportunity to work together.

QSR Media: In what direction do you see this partnership is taking Soul Origin?

Soul Origin: With so much conflicting information and hype around nutrition, it's hard to know what you should be eating. Healthy eating has become confusing and complicated!

Lyndi says: "What I love about Soul Origin is that the food isn't fussy and pretentious - It's simply great tasting, healthy fast food. I've jumped on board with Soul Origin to help give customers peace of mind when choosing healthy options. When you eat at Soul Origin, it's easier to make healthy choices and eat mindfully."

We will be working closely together to develop exciting, new menu items that help fuel our customers with the right type of nutrients - without skimping on the flavour.

QSR Media: What have you learned so far from your partnership regarding menu development?

Soul Origin: Lyndi's whole foods approach to nutrition is simple. It's about enjoying everything in moderation, picking foods from the colours of the rainbow and eating mindfully.

Our menu development has been informed by this wholesome and balanced approach to nutrition. Whilst we will continue to create exciting new menu items, we want to stay true to the essence of Soul Origin. At Soul Origin, we believe in creating delicious tasting, healthy fast food that every Aussie can enjoy. That means that everything on the Soul Origin menu needs to taste amazing, whilst also being a healthy pick for your body too.

Our customers have made it clear they are committed to eating mindfully. Because of this, Soul Origin needed to add to our team an expert in the field who can help us craft recipes, meal guides and other content pieces that can assist our customers achieve their health goals be it weight loss, eating cleaner or simply cutting out the junk food in their lives. Lyndi comes to Soul Origin with an impressive resume and her ethos to healthy eating matches ours. Our customers are always the focus in everything that we do and we feel this partnership will be of great benefit for all Soul Origin customers.

QSR Media: Can you tell us more about the new menu that's coming out?

Soul Origin: Our new menu will speak to our health-enthusiast consumers as it's packed with loads of nutrients and plenty of the good stuff. We also know that healthy food has to taste great which is why our new menu is equally packed with flavour.

For the new salad menu, we have included some exciting new ingredients that people may not have tried before. The new menu has been supercharged with superfoods like turmeric, kale and feekeh and also uses some of the classic favourites. 

The menu development process was so much fun as we explored innovative ways to combine fun, tasty and nutritious ingredients. I think the end result is really exciting because we are trying things that have never been done before. Our customers are going to be really excited by the upcoming menu items!

The Australian customer is sophisticated and savvy when it comes to dining options. No longer can brands simply slap “Low Fat Range” or “Diet Range” on their menus and expect their customers to be OK with that. We see an increasing interest in sustainably grown produce that is local and minimal impact on our environment. We want to show our customers that we have the same concerns and same commitment to ensuring every ingredient served in our stores are locally sourced where possible and that production is sustainable and environmentally friendly. 

QSR Media: What else is new at Soul Origin?

Soul Origin: We have just opened our first Melbourne store in Chadstone. We are also about to branch into South Australia soon.

We have begun working with The Starlight Foundation and have several charity initiatives planned for between now and the end of the year.
