Extreme Pita lands in Oz

Get to know the newest QSR on the block.

Up and coming QSR chain, Extreme Pita, has arrived in the country and they revealed news about the brand’s launch in the Australian QSR marketplace.

The brand also revealed their expansion plans and goals for next year.

Below is a Q&A with Gary Blyton, Director of Extreme Pita.

QSR Media: How would you describe Extreme Pita, the brand?

Blyton: A healthy and nutritious alternative to fast food serving pocket style pita bread filled with grilled lean meats, grilled veges, fresh salads and sauces.

Complementing the core food offering is flat bake pizza style pitas, salads and 100% natural smoothies.

There is a separate breakfast menu with espresso coffee plus our own kids menu with average calorie count of only 250grams.

There is quite a bit of proprietary product produced in Australia plus some we are importing from North America to maintain international consistency.

QSR Media: Tell us a bit about the Australian management of Extreme Pita.

Blyton: There are 4 partners with combined over 20 years experience in franchising, food franchising, restaurant operations and retail.

QSR Media: You have mentioned you have 4 sites about to open in Sydney, where are these located?

Blyton: Kings Cross (under the famous Coca Cola sign), Macquarie Centre in Ryde have been finalised and we are still finalising the others.

We also have 2 sites secured in Melbourne for new franchisees who are very keen undergo training and get started. These will take place post Sydney store openings.

QSR Media: Franchisee recruitment, what's your plan in this space?

Blyton: To begin we will manage this internally with an organic growth strategy.

QSR Media: What is your plan re marketing and launching the "Extreme Pita" brand in the QSR marketplace?

Blyton: We have a social media agency ready to start this month. Our rewards program is almost ready.

We are still recruiting our marketing manager and we also have great support from International Head office of MTY Group in Toronto. MTY control approx 3000 food outlets across a number of brands.

QSR Media: What are some of your goals for 2014?

Blyton: We aim to open up several stores in 3 states each and of course our goal will be to maintain the current concept’s benchmark kpi numbers and ensure our guests are going home very happy every time.

QSR Media: Any other comments?

Blyton: Having experienced the Extreme Pita menu some years ago, I am truly excited that the day is finally growing very near that we are going to get to share this with Australia.
