Market update on MOS Burger's Aust plans

Japanese Giant, MOS Burger gives us an update.

Below is a Q&A with Vincent Cheng, MOS Burger Project Manager.

QSR Media: Can you give us an update of what's happening in Australia?

Cheng: MOS Burger has opened 3 stores in 2011 and 2 stores in 2012. The Brisbane CBD store opened in last April which is the current biggest store in Queensland.

On the other hand, we had launched different new burgers in 2013, such as Gourmet Wagyu Chilli Burger, Hot Teriyaki Chicken Burger & Shrimp Cutlet Burger.

QSR Media: Are you still looking at having a 200 store footprint in 5 years time?

Cheng: We are trying to open more stores and looking at new sites in other states.

QSR Media: What kind of marketing or promotional plan do you have for MOS Burger in Australia?

Cheng: We have recently launched Happy Hour Meal for customers. Also, we are doing different activities at our store, such as Balloon Art show, face painting…

QSR Media: It looks like you have just introduced a breakfast menu at some of your stores, what kind of results are you achieving with this?

Cheng: We would like our customers to come and try our new breakfast options. We hope our customers would enjoy it.

QSR Media: When selecting new sites for MOS stores, what are your key considerations?

Cheng: High traffic is always the key for us when looking for new sites. With the local community, we look for one who has great support and can help expand our branding.
